Parker was a minute man at the Legington Alarm in Capt. John Davis' Company. (DAR Lineage Book, Vol 19, p.218)

Parker was a Private in Capt. John Davis' Company, Col James Frye's Regiment, which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, service 7 days; reported enlisted February 14, 1775; also return of men in camp at Cambridge, May 17, 1775; also, receipt for advance pay dated Cambridge, June 8, 1775; also, company return dated Cambrige, Oct 5 1775. (Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolutionary War, Vol. II) Colonel Frye's unit was in the thick of the Battle of Bunker's Hill on June 17, 1775.

“After word of the British attacks reached Methuen on Apr. 19, 1775, Capt. John Davis gathered a company of men and boys and marched to Concord Bridge, arriving in the evening at the close of battle. The Methuen company under Capt. Davis in the regiment of Col. James Frye also of a Methuen family, was in the very thick of the Battle of Bunker’s Hill, however.” (This is Methuen, The League of Women Voters).
