The Sanford city directory of 1893 list William as a Blk. Printer, employed at the Sanford Mills and living at 8 School Road.
The Sanford and Springfield Directory of 1915-16 lists William as an overseer at the Sanford Mills and living at 14 School Road. The same directory lists son, Donald Ray as an electrician working for Bodwell Brother's Stillman A. and Vernor C. Bodwell
