On 16 Sep 1861 he mustered into "E" Co. Wisconsin 10th Infantry. He was first wounded on 8 October 1862 in Perryville, Ky.
He was wounded a second time on 19 Sep 1863 at the battle of Chickamauga, Ga. And died of his wounds on 21 October 1863 at Chatanooga, Tn.
