Charles Murray Bodwell (1925–2004)

Son of: Charles 1888

Charles was born in 1925 in Grafton, Massachusetts. Following the death of his father in 1939, at just 14 years of age, he drove the family Dodge station wagon to Miami with his mother and sister. After graduating high school during WWII, he joined the US Army Air Corps to become a pilot. Despite being 6'4", too tall for fighter planes, he persisted and trained to fly P-51s, eventually becoming a 2nd Lieutenant.

After the war, Charles used the GI Bill to earn an engineering degree from North Carolina State University. He worked for General Motors, rising to Director of Quality for General Motors Assembly Division by 1980. After retiring, Charles and his wife Marilyn traveled extensively, including time in Indonesia, and later settled in Mirror Lake, New Hampshire.
