Willis Earl Bodwell (1855-1918)

Well Known New Haven Road Engineer was struck by pole while leaning out of his cab window- Was with the road 38 years. Nov. 22, 1916. Willis Bodwell, R. R. engineer of 74 Atwater St. received a scalp wound as his train was passing through West Haven at 12: 30 yesterday afternoon. He was leaning out of the side window of the engine and his head came into contact with a bridge abutment with considerable force. He was able to continue at work until New Rochelle was reached, where he was sent to the hospital. Later he was sent home.(and died as a result of it.). Walter Jones, grand-son of Jeanie Marion Bodwell-Miller.
