Richard Kelly Bodwell (1894-1969)

Richard was involved in municipal government as a fiscal officer, for more than 24 years. He served by election as treasurer of the cemetery trustees, Town Treasurer from 1936 until 1959 and School District Treasurer.

He attended the District One school in Salem for nine years, then worked for his father in the family's wood heel factory on Bridge Street. He served overseas during World War I. After the death of his father, Mr. Bodwell, with his brother, Henry, carried on the wood heel business for a period of time.

He then worked for the Metopolitan Life Insurance Company for a decade. In his late years, he was employed for 15 years in the administration department at Rockingham Park. (History of Salem 1900-1974).

Joan (Bodwell) Bolduc, 88, of Tiverton, wife of the late Roy P. Bolduc, died Friday, February 8, 2013.

In 1946 she, along with her late husband and his brother Lester founded BolducÕs Lumber Co., Fall River. She was a member of the Amicable Congregational Church Social Club, Tiverton and the Classy Ladies. Born in Salem, New Hampshire, she was a graduate of the former Woodbury High School, now Salem High School, Class of 1942 and the Bryant-McIntosh School of Business, Lawrence, MA, Class of 1943 and was employed by the Bolta Company, Lawrence.

She leaves 3 children, Richard L. Bolduc (Sharon Ireland) of Fall River, Paul L. Bolduc (Sue), and Kathy Furtado (Gregory), all of Tiverton; grandchildren, Mark, Adam and Andrew Bolduc, Tracy Andrews, Thomas and James Carr and Meredith and Neil Furtado; 4 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Richard K. and Minnie S. (Weinhold) Bodwell and the sister of the late Richard Bodwell.

Visitation Wednesday from 3:30 to 7:30 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation to follow. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
