John Hanford Bodwell, Jr. (1886-1959)

John attended school at the Norwalk School of Shorthand and Typewriting where he met Agnes. For 48 years, he worked for the Yale and Town Lock Company, eventually rising to the position of Manager of the Bank Service Department. While the company was in Stamford, John walked to work each day. As head of the Bank Service Department, John worked in the Chrysler Building in NYC. He was in the habit of stopping for a bowl of oyster stew each day as he passed through Grand Central Station. (Sarah V. Dunlap)
