1st Regiment New Hampshire Infantry


The regiment was organized at Concord and mustered for three months service in May 1861- Moved to Washing D. C. May 25-28. Camped at Kalorama Heights until June 10. Assigned to Stone's Brigade, Patterson's Army of the Shenandoah. Rockville Expedition, June 10-July 7. Action at Conrad's Ferry, June 17th. At Poolsville until July 3. Moved to Williamsport, Md. July 3-7. Thence to Martinsburg, Virginia July 8th. Advanced toward Winchester July 15-17. Moved to Charlestown, July 18th. To Harper's Ferry July 21 and to Sandy Hook, July 28th. Ordered to New Hampshire Aug 2 and mustered out August 9, 1861, expiration of term.
